Agentic Labs

for Lower Cost Industrial Chemistry

SolidSky is building an agentic materials lab to solve process challenges in industrial chemistry. $350B worth of petrochemical assets are at risk of margin-driven closure in the next 10 years. These assets enable production of everything from polymers to fuels to pharmaceuticals. Newer, more efficient ways of operations are needed, but conventional RnD needs over 10 years to solve challenges at this scale. The chemicals industry needs better solutions, and SolidSky is providing it through Designer Materials: built-to-purpose materials designed for their end use.

THE solidsky approach

SolidSky is a materials company building vertical integration across simulation, synthesis, testing, and process validation . Our agentic lab connects computational chemistry, physics-informed neural networks, high-throughput experimentation, and automated reactors into a continuous learning loop.

We generate novel catalyst formulations using density functional theory and surface mechanistic modeling. These candidates are automatically synthesized and screened in custom multichannel reactors capable of evaluating thousands of materials per month . High-resolution performance and degradation data are then fed back into the model, improving predictive accuracy with each cycle.

This closed loop does not stop at bench discovery. Promising materials are advanced through kinetic validation, digital twin process modeling, and industrial reactor simulation to ensure they survive contact with operational reality . The result is not simply a better material, but a deployment-ready process.

FLAMEL: OUR INDUSTRIAL MATERIALS ENGINE

FLAMEL is the experimental backbone of the SolidSky platform. It integrates predictive modeling with automated synthesis and multichannel reactor testing to enable rapid screening and validation of catalytic systems. Early deployments focus on dehydrogenation, with successive generations expanding testing capacity and reaction classes .

The objective is not faster ideas. It is faster, validated solutions. By tightly constraining material scope and focusing on application-specific needs, FLAMEL removes five to seven years and up to half the cost traditionally associated with catalyst development .
